Bridal Trends of Spring 2019
Updated: Mar 2, 2020
Bridal Trends of Spring 2019 have now hit the newsstands. Last season’s trends that made it down the aisle had a delicate touch. However, this season, designers refused to hold back. This season, the trends showcased have been “unapologetic, directional silhouettes” that made bold statements and caught everyone’s attention. To name a few, Vera Wang showcased vibrant, risk-taking colors in her designs that give brides additional color options outside of bridal white. Classic corsets and ball gowns (which she is best known for) were featured. In addition, Wes Gordon’s bridal collection for Carolina Herrera featured a lively bride full of youth and romance. While his collection is delicate and feminine, he still represents strong women exceptionally well. He utilized the “bold blooms” trend. On the other hand, Naeem Khan took a different direction and showcased “punk-esque” designs with metals and feathers.
These were the trends that were featured:
Bold blooms
Feathers
Civil ceremony looks for the reception and after parties
Oversized bows
Metals and sparkles
Ruffles
Harper Bazaar coins the term “The Meghan Effect” as one of the trends
Sophisticated jumpsuits
White, all-over
Trapeze Silhouettes
These trends inspire bride-to-be’s to step out of their comfort zones and mesmerize their attendants with bold colors, metals, feathers, etc. Grab a glimpse, they’ll surely stun you the way they did me!
