Today’s vendor spotlight is on Daniel Bostwick Photography and this guy is pretty impressive not only for his amazing photography but for his passion and inspiration that goes into it.
Tell us about your business
I’ve been photographing weddings for 10 years now, which is crazy to say because I feel like I shot my first one just yesterday. It started sort of accidentally when I was focusing on surf photography and a friend had asked me to shoot his wedding. Over the years my work has become an amalgamation of all of my favorite photographers ranging from the dramatic photojournalism, to timeless architecture, to high fashion, to landscapes from the most remote areas of the world. I take all of the skills and inspiration from those photographers and roll it into a wedding day.
Where are you from?
I grew up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and currently reside not far from there in Delaware.
How did your business start?
Well, sort of by accident. Like I said, a friend had asked me to photograph his wedding and I really enjoyed myself and sort of fell in love with it from there.
What’s your favorite thing about working in the wedding industry?
Working with people at their best is pretty great. I’ve worked in industries where people weren’t always very happy and to work with people living there best life is a dream come true.
Why did you decide to participate in the Ultimate Wedding Giveaway?
Photography has given me so much. Seriously, I live a dream life. I work for myself, I do something I am passionate about, I live a life that allows me to see my son A LOT and do the things that I love to do every day. I am always looking for ways to give back in a positive fashion, and when Josh approached me about doing this, it was the driving factor in deciding to take part in it.
Tell us something fun.
Ah, well I would say first off that I love to eat. No, I really love food, I have an obsession with different cultural cuisines, eating strange foods, knowing the source my food and cooking gourmet food. I then have to offset that with my hobbies which include fitness, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, surfing, and cycling. I’ve traveled the world, I’ve been to 4 continents, Vietnam being the furthest destination. Annnnnnnd I am a new father, which is better than all of the other things I have done, combined.
